ONE80 Black J21 Series 3 - 23 gram Steel Tip Darts

ONE80 Black J21 Series 3 - 23 gram Steel Tip Darts
Another surprise packet from One80 darts!
There are some darts manufacturers that have the knack of making their product stand out on the shelf and then there are the rest. This offering from ONE80 just jumps out at you !
For the bowerbirds out there these are must haves, they look amazing!
The packaging is in bold red (Magenta) and Black and the darts themselves really stand out when in the board. Silver with black and red highlights on the barrels they’re really eye catching, they just pop!
I’ve spoken of the prepackaged contents and set up of new darts before; if you are used to throwing with Intermediate length shafts the standard setup will likely be fine. For those with a preference for short shafts, try them out of the box, this set up might surprise you!
As I said they are striking darts, the barrels are described as specialty and the design is special!
A 47mm long barrel just a touch over 7mm in diameter.
The nose section is about 7mm in length but not as smoothly tapered as most darts, but a rounded taper appearance. There are 4 defined deep cut rings that make up the next 14mm of the barrel each deep groove is black and between the black grooves there are 2 shallow cut, equally spaced red grooves, the last three of these deep grooves make up the length of the scallop cut into the front section of the barrel. The scallop at the deepest point reduces the barrel diameter to around 6.5mm. The front grip section also includes 6 equally spaced groove cut laterally into the barrel providing even more control. After the scallop, the barrel has a plain flat section about 3mm long, from this point the barrel tapers gently from 7.2mm down to a touch under 6.5mm making up its full 47mm length. This area of the barrel has 6 double cut grooved sections providing a perfect grip section for those who grip a dart by the rear.
So, what are they like to throw? - Sensational!
The grip is positive, but not overly aggressive. They feel comfortable no matter where they’re held front, rear or centre. I tried these straight out of the box, without issue. The only concern I had was that if I “Robin Hooded” a shaft I had nothing of this length. But the Vice shaft supplied are so pointed at the flight end its unlikely that you’ll destroy a shaft that way.
They are beautifully balanced, with a grip that will suit almost everyone!
After a few hours of throwing I tried them with different shaft lengths and at this point the boss tried them and that’s where I lost ownership of the darts.
One80 Black J21 03 - Great looking darts that actually work for everyone in our household.
