Winmau Ultimate Tune Up Kit
This is a very comprehensive kit that contains a whole lot of very useful goodies.
Six sets of Shafts, six sets of flights, 2 point protectors, 8 sets of Trident 180 point sleeves, 2 sets of Flight Protectors, 5 sets of shaft springs, shaft ‘o’ rings and an applicator a checkout card and the best bits last, a Dart players Multi-tool and a small sharpening stone.
Don’t write this set off, for the beginner or seasoned player this kit will let you adjust your darts to get the best out of them. Small adjustments can make a big difference to your game!
The shafts, are Prism Polycarbonate (3 sets), and 3 sets of nylon stems in short and extra short.
Tweaking the shaft lengths will change the way the dart lands in the board when thrown.
The flights are Winmau Rhino Extra thick; they’re tough and will take a lot of beating on a practice board or in a serious game.
The Trident 180 point sleeves are an interesting item, they are pushed on to the dart point with the wide side to the barrel. What they do is remove the step between the barrel and the point, and give the feel of a continuous surface from the point back onto the barrel. Many dart manufacturers offer points that incorporate this type of tapered surface on their points, Winmau have their FreeFlo and FreeFlo Regroove range. By using the Trident 180 sleeves you can ‘try’ this style of point without changing your points. I’m mean what if you hate the feel?
The flight protectors, are small aluminum caps that go over the back of your flights, they stop the points from splitting open the back of the flight and reduce the likelihood of the point of a following dart from smashing or damaging your shafts.
The ‘o’ rings and applicator let you slip a nylon ring over the thread of the shaft to lock it into the barrel – loose shafts are really distracting. Springs are for the shaft ends to stop the flights working free or falling out.
The sharpening stone speaks for itself! really handy and then the multi tool, it does it all – It tightens aluminum shafts – the annoying ones that come loose because you didn’t have the ‘o’ rings and applicator in this kit, its got the hole cut in it that lets you install the Trident 180 sleeves without stabbing yourself with your darts. It lets you remove broken shafts, change soft tip points. Repair bent aluminum shafts when the flight grips have been damaged. Like I said it does heaps but I have to say, by the time you’ve done all this, you’d have worked up a thirst, and it has a bottle opener built in!
All this in a smart plastic case to keep it all in order. A great gift for any player.
