Target Stephen Bunting G4 Swiss Point 25 gram Steel Tip Darts
Stephen Bunting has kept a reasonably low profile over the past few years beginning his comeback in 2019. He unfortunately tested positive to Covid-19 in 2020, stalling his comeback until 2021.
In one of Target’s new releases The Gen 4 of the Bullet has been released.
Previous versions were smooth and silver, golden with a honeycomb like grip and again a smooth silver version. In a total deviation from the norm, Target and Bunting have opted for something completely different. In their latest G4 Bunting dart they have come up with a strikingly different dart to what we have seen before.
They are predominantly Red and Silver, eye candy; they stand out, but not in a bad way.
The grip has been precision milled with grooves cut both along and across the barrel, resulting in the grip being comprised of 1x1mm squares bordered by electroplated red grooves, a striking appearance. Black Pro Grip shafts with newly styled Red and Black “the Bullet” Flights.
The Barrels themselves are a similar ‘torpedo’ shape to the Gen 1 Bunting dart, at their widest point they are still only a touch over 7mm in diameter and 50mm long, the barrel tapers off toward the rear to meet the stem.
These are clearly front-loaded, but no matter where you hold these, they are a very comfortable barrel in the hand. The grip provided by the milled area is positive, but not extreme, they probably rate 2 - 2.5/5.
Throwing them takes very little adjusting to, if any at all. It’s an intuitive action with a tapered front loader and once you have them landing the way you want, the positive results follow quickly. Even though these are 25g darts they are a pleasure to throw.
I think the real icing on the cake are the Swiss Points, they are loved by as many as those that don’t like them, all I can say is don’t knock it until you try them. They provide no real noticeable difference playing, but, if you like longer or profiled points, Swiss points take away the need for tools, every set comes with a Swiss point tool – no problem! And the range of Swiss points is really comprehensive.
According to Target they are available in 12g, 23g & 25g.
They are clearly another great set of darts that are both practical and have stand out good looks!
