Red Dragon Peter Wright Euro 11 PC20 20g Darts
Peter “Snakebite” Wright has set the darting world on fire with his latest switch to Euro 11 Element Gold PC 20!
The response to seeing Peter playing in the Players Championships (PC20) was breath-taking, with video footage and subsequent engagement well over 100,000 in the first hours.
Peter has stuck to his guiding principle in looking for darts perfection in every change he has made for him. No other modern day professional puts more time and effort into their game and has an understanding of exactly what they want their darts to do.
Peter's latest Euro-11's were born out darts most curious mind, as Peter wanted a slightly different feel to the Euro 11 Elements in what he described as softer. This latest Euro-11 Gold version is still the longest and thinnest dart we have ever constructed for Peter, but comes complete with Titanium Nitride Gold coloured coating. A word of note for those that group darts really well, it will start to wear as you'd expect with the hardest materials known to man banging into each other - but worthy battle scars!
Euro 11 Gold PC 20 are 2 inches long, made at 5.1mm diameter and fitted with Crossfire carbon fibre shafts and we fully expect to see him rocking with these new darts in the PDC Matchplay next week.
Peter said "I've been messing about with a few sets of gold coloured darts at home as they look superb in the dartboard, and feel just so subtly different and it was an older set of Merv King Titanium Nitride darts that made me think to try my Euro 11 Elements with the same gold finish - and wow did they not disappoint! I've still got a bit to go learning how they handle under all conditions but winning with them so early in PC 20 has given me huge confidence so let’s see what the next few weeks brings".
Peter said "The moment I picked up these Euro-11's I knew they would fly exactly as I've been looking for. They are 2 inches long and made at 5.1mm diameter giving me the most solid feel I've had in my darts for a while. I've added the Intermediate Crossfire carbon shaft and 100 micron black flight as the they balance the dart perfectly. The grip level sits in the perfect place for my hand, and they feel like I can place them anywhere on the board ". As you'd understand we can’t say there won't be a version 12 anytime soon, but any dart player can see that these are a stunning set of darts will inspire you to the best you can be.

Red Dragon Peter Wright Euro 11 PC20 20 gram DartsWednesday, January 5th, 2022 - The Darts Collector
These darts glitter and they’re a gold colour!
The barrels are as stated in the specifications 54.8mm long and 6.0mm in diameter at the parallel end of nose section of the dart.
The smooth section at the beginning of the barrel is about 7.5mm long, the smooth portion of the barrel is followed by a 10mm stretch of 3 x 0.5mm grooves and 3 x 1.0mm grooves, again followed by a 9.0mm smooth section which again is followed up by 4 x 1.0mm grooves, 4 x 0.5mm grooves and a repeat of 4 x 0.5mm grooves, the barrels finishes with an 11.0mm Smooth section containing the RD brand and the Snakebite logo.
The machining on the barrel becomes a bit of a moot point, because from the beginning of the first groove to the end of the last groove the barrels are coated in a similar if not the same diamond dust that his World Champion Diamond edition darts are coated in.
The feel is quite unusual, but definitely not unpleasant or distracting in any way.
The Barrels are presented in Red Dragon Premium packaging fitted this time with Red Dragon Crossfire Short shafts and a set of “Snakebite” Hardcore Extra thick flights.
Normally the Snakebite and many other Red Dragon darts are supplied with Nitrotech shafts and, in my humble opinion they’re usually too long, this time, they’re “just right”.
Out of the box the darts are really striking, apart from these review throwing sessions it’s likely that will be the only action they will see.
Red Dragon rightly adds a warning in the product description advising that the coatings will eventually show signs of wear. I have to say, I have racked up quite a few hours on these and managed some really tight grouping and the coating thus far shows no marks.
At the board this is a set of darts that really took some intense concentration to get the swing of. Not because of the colour or the diamond touch coating, but I took a while to get used to the extra-long barrels. To look at in their gold and black livery they don’t stand out as really long dart, but they are long enough to alter the centre of balance dependant on how you hold the barrels. My regular barrels are more on the short side so for me it was a bit of a re-learning curve.
Once I had the balance right it was a ‘simple’ case of placement, patience and persistence and before long I had them behaving and flying the way I wanted.
The Diamond grip surface makes all the difference, no slippage just 100% grip on the barrels. The grip itself is 5/5 no mistaking its there but combined with the grooves underneath the coating I didn’t feel it was aggressive, just super positive. By that I mean it was not a distraction, but it was there.
This is definitely a dart for the collection, but like all darts it was made to be thrown at a board. It’s a great dart and it’s very throw able if you’re that way inclined.
I’d rate these as a definite 4.5/5!
