XQMax Reactor M3 Black with Yellow 23 gram Darts
Dart Review by Ralf M.
XQMax Reactor 23g 80% Tungsten Steel Tip Darts.
The name Reactor to me indicates the controlled release of energy (as in Nuclear Reactor).
The packaging looks great and mimics the design on the flights that come with the darts ( I really like the design on the flights, have to get some).
Tip - I am a firm believer in researching the darts I’m going to purchase, Deadeye Darts provide the specifications so, and it’s much easier to compare what you’re looking at to the real world.
The XQMax Reactors are a good looking dart, with 2 Grip zones and a tapered nose.
When they arrived the first observation is, how thin they look in the package, not so and the barrels weren’t parallel.
They come in a standard package with a point protector, barrels and a set of standard stems and flights. Out of the box, the darts are 50mm long and about 7mm in diameter at the widest point; there is an almost barely noticeable scallop at the rear of the dart.
On the 50mm barrel long, the scallop section starts 4mm from the threaded (stem) end and is about 17mm long, and around 0.5mm deep at the centre, it’s not huge but it’s noticeable.
I am a rear gripper, so my thumb and index finger sat comfortably in the scallop. My first few throws were mediocre to say the least. The scallop at the rear, with my grip and throw make the darts behave like they were heavily front loaded and just didn’t work for me at all. I had a friend who is a front gripper try them and the results were dramatically different. They fly straight and true. All said this is a great set of darts for someone with the correct grip (front or centre), I’m not a fan of “painted “darts but the Black and yellow highlights are understated and don’t try to turn them into something they’re not. The grip provided is light and not at all aggressive. It took me a little while to get used to the change in balance, but I quite like their feel.
Generally, a quality dart that would suit someone who has used a similar style barrel, and above all GREAT Value for money.
